Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been a bit absent on the blog lately, I’ve been quite busy with one thing and another but it’s so nice to be writing another blog post. In this post, I’m going to be talking ALL about productivity. I’ve got to be honest, I’m not always really productive and I do of course have those days when I have ZERO motivation but I find these tips really help me to stay on track. I LOVE being productive and getting all my ‘jobs’ out the way as fast as possible because then I get more time to relax and spend time with friends and family. Tip 1 – Write a To-Do List
I find writing a to-do list the most helpful way to keep me productive and focused on my goals. I always write a to-do list in the evening for the next day and I feel so much more motivated when I see everything that I need to do written down. Any task, however big/small, I write down and then tick it off throughout the day once I’ve done it. I would recommend getting a nice notebook and labelling it your List Book and then putting ALLL your to-do lists in it. It’s always so satisfying to flick through and see all the tasks you’ve completed! Another thing that helps me is writing down my monthly/yearly goals at the start of my to-do list so that every time I open my notebook, I can see all the goals I’ve set myself and start achieving them.
Tip 2 – Have A Clean and Organised Work Space
Whenever I’m doing revision or writing blog posts etc. , I find that having a clean and organised desk space really helps me to not get distracted and stay productive. I like the quote ‘tidy room, tidy mind’ because I really agree with it! I find that whenever my work space is messy, I tend to feel a bit more stressed and not as organised so a tidy desk is very important for me. Additionally, I like to make my desk a calm place. Depending on what I’m doing, I sometimes listen to relaxing music or light a candle.
Tip 3 – Keep Hydrated!
I think it’s SO important to stay hydrated when you have a LOT to tackle. If you’re dehydrated, you loose focus and therefore motivation so it’s necessary that you’re having enough to drink. At the moment, I’m loving lemon water with ice. It’s really refreshing whilst also being a healthy drink.
Tip 4 – Have Breaks
Although it might sound like a good idea to tackle your to-do list all in one go, if you don’t have small breaks, you tend to loose focus. I always find that having short breaks during revision really help me to maintain focus for longer and be more productive. Sometimes in the breaks it can be as simple as making a cup of tea or going on a 5 minute walk but it definitely helps to keep you productive!
Tip 5 – Use Planners
I absolutely LOVE to use a planner because I can write down everything that I need to do in the week ahead of me and then tick it off throughout the week. It’s a great way to plan all your activities so then you’ll know how much time you have to tackle your to-do list and all the ‘jobs’. My sister got me a gorgeous Ted Baker planner and it immediately made me want to stay really productive and organised! I also find that simply buying some new stationary actually really motivates me. Especially if it involves pastel highlighters!
