For me, the start of the colder months means having wayy more baths. Whereas in the summer, I tend to be more of shower girl, I find baths very relaxing during autumn and winter. There’s nothing better than coming home freezing and having a nice big bubble bath and pamper to warm you up, especially if copious amounts of pumpkin spice candles and autumnal films are thrown into the mix. Although I wrote one of these posts back in summer , it has changed quite a bit – including my skincare routine!
Firstly, I usually run myself a big bubble bath. My favourite bath product at the moment is most definitely the ‘Asquith and Somerset Pumpkin Spice bath fizzers‘. They smell HEAVENLY and are really silky on my skin too. I usually combine this with some bubble bath(I’ve been loving the Zoella Milky Way Bath Powder)
Before I get in the bath, I usually take my makeup off and do my skincare routine. Dermologica kindly gifted me some products about a month ago and I’ve been using them ever since. It really suits my skin type and clears my skin. Firstly, I use the Dermologica Precleanse to take off my makeup. It is an oil that you rub into your face and my makeup literally melts off. I then use the Dermologica Special Cleansing Gel and rub it into my face until it foams before removing with some warm water. It really sooths my skin and it also contains lavendar so it smells amazing! After that, I sometimes use The Daily Microfoliant to exfoliate my skin. It is a powder that I then mix with water before rubbing into my face. My skin feels so much smoother after using it and a lot brighter! Finally, I finish off my skincare routine by using the Dermologica Skin Smoothing Cream. This is a new product and it is SO silky to apply to my face. It really hydrates my skin and it’s said to protect your skin against enviromental stress!
After I get out the bath, I then put on a face mask(I love sheet masks at the moment) and watch a film or TV programme. My current favs are Riverdale(Netflix) and Celebrity Hunted(All 4). I then use some body butter to moisturise my skin(it always gets really dry in the colder months). My favourite at this time of year is the Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter – it smells amazing! If my lips are feeling a bit dry too, I’ll exfoliate them using my Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub and then use my Clarins Lip Oil. I always put my electric blanket on, turn on my candle warmer and have a herbal tea or snacks.
