This summer, I thought I’d make a little bucketlist of some summery activities that I would LOVE to do and on my list, at the very top, I’d written raspberry picking. I’ve always wanted to go, I feel like it is the ~perfect~ summer activity and you also get to eat lots of berries(my fav fruits) although, unfortunately, there isn’t a pick-your-own-farm anywhere near us. When we went to the Lake District(there’s a post on our holiday on Sunday) I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to go.
When we got there, we got given a little box and started picking! Unfortunately, we’d missed the strawberries and there were only a few raspberries left but we still managed to pick some fruit. We went for jostaberries(a sweeter version of a blackcurrant), rhubarb and rasberries. I’ve decided to freeze the rhubarb for autumn to make a crumble with and we had a delicious berry pie with the jostaberries. It was such a fun day out and I’d definitely recommend finding a PYO farm near you.
