I love biscuits especially when it starts to get a bit colder. They’re perfect in front of the fire with a cup of tea. These biscuits are basically a Terrys chocolate orange in biscuit form, they’re AMAZING! It also doesn’t take much time to make so you can quickly whip it up if you fancy something sweet. For this recipe I took a basic biscuit recipe and jazzed it up with orange zest and chocolate. You can add whatever you want. I think nuts and fruits would go nicely with these too. Also, if you’re not a fan of dark chocolate you can drizzle any other chocolate over the top but I think this chocolate compliments the orange the best.
- 100g caster sugar
- 100g unsalted butter
- 275g plain flour
- 1 egg
- drop of orange extract
- zest of 2 oranges
- dark chocolate
- Preheat your oven to 180c. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
- Blend the butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy
- Stir in your orange zest, flour and orange extract until well combined.
- Add in your flour, a little at a time, to create a dough
- Wrap up in some cling film and pop in the fridge for around 20 minutes. You don’t have to do this if you’re in a rush, I just find that it makes it easier to roll.
- Roll out your dough and cut into circles/ any other shape you fancy doing and put on your baking tray. Bake for 8-10 minutes until pale-golden brown.
- Melt your chocolate and put in a piping bag. Cut a small snip of the end and drizzle onto the cooled biscuits.
- Leave to cool until the chocolate hardens and enjoy!
